Australian Oyster Cut Veneered Red Cedar Secretaire Bookcase
Manufactured by George Thwaites for Sir Redmond Barry, Melbourne 1860

Two glazed doors above two lower doors and a fall front writing slope enclosing six cedar drawers and ten
pigeon holes. Superb Oyster Cut Red Cedar veneer bordering the sides and pelmet and featured again on the lower
cupboards and fall front writing slope. Provenance to Sir Redmond Barry (1831 – 1880) and made in the highly
regarded workshop of George Thwaites. Bookcase patina and hardware is in original untouched condition.
